Managing large shoots is no different than managing small projects. There are just more aspects to think about. From the details of the day to the overall goals of the shoot, you need to be prepared for the unexpected. Having the best laid plan and then expecting it to change the moment you step out the door is how I’ve always worked and it continually prepares me for the next project. I work fast and for long hours. As I’ve said many times, we work until the job is done, not the end of the day. Growing up on a farm in northeast Iowa taught me the value of working until the project is complete.
